If you're looking to limit your carbs and are looking to eat somewhere near Shibuya, this is the place for you!
Hello, I'm Takada, manager of Fusubon Daikanyama.
At our Daikanyama store, we often get asked by customers, "Are there any recommended shops around here?" Today, I would like to introduce some low-carb restaurants that my owner and I recommend.
Low Carb Restaurants Near Shibuya: Part 1: PARIYAAoyama
Low Carb Restaurants Near Shibuya - Part 1: Menu Example from PARIYA The first restaurant is PARIYA.
You can choose the type of rice, main dish, side dish, and salad one by one like a set meal, and it comes with soup and a drink.
The key point is that you can choose the type of rice, and in addition to white rice, you can choose no rice or brown rice. I usually eat brown rice, but when I want to narrow it down, I'll go without rice and add a main or side dish.
The menu changes weekly, so you'll never get bored, and the soup is free to refill, and the drinks are all-you-can-drink during lunch hours is a great service. Fusubon is a restaurant I highly recommend.
Low-carb restaurant near Shibuya, Part 2: The exterior of CITYSHOP This is a delicatessen specializing in gourmet salads produced by PARIYA, introduced above.
With the theme of "Eat a variety of vegetables more deliciously and more daily," we always offer 15 types of deli dishes that combine vegetables with meat, fish, superfoods, grains, spices, etc.
You can get plenty of delicious fresh vegetables, meat, and fish. The freshness of the vegetables is the best thing about this place.
The menu is simple with two options:
・"Custom Green & 2 Deli Plate" Choose your custom green salad with your favorite toppings and dressing, and choose two items from 15 deli options.
・"Deli Plate" Choose 5 items from 15 different deli items. Recommended for when you're hungry and want to eat something filling.
I choose the "Custom Green & 2 Deli Plate" so that I get a good balance of vegetables, fish, meat, and eggs.
Both the owner of Fusubon and I visit the place frequently and are always impressed.
Low-carb restaurants near Shibuya: Part 3 - Exterior of UrthCafe Daikanyama
Next, we would like to introduce a restaurant where you can enjoy a leisurely meal within walking distance of Daikanyama Fusubon. This organic coffee cafe is from Los Angeles, USA, and is owned by Shigeki Maruyama, a professional golfer who has won three PGA Tour titles.
We also offer organically grown coffee, popular boba drinks, sandwiches, salads, pizza, soup, and desserts such as waffles and cakes.
*In addition to the Daikanyama store, we also have a store in Omotesando. *Take-out is also available.
Urth Caffé is famous for its drinks and waffles, but it also has a wide variety of food menu items. My recommendation is the salad menu, such as the grilled chicken salad and chicken curry salad.
You can enjoy a luxurious meal of vegetables and meat. Of course, this is a shop that is particular about its coffee, so we recommend ordering a rich and full-bodied cafe latte, which Maruyama-san encountered in Los Angeles and was impressed by. Low-carb restaurants near Shibuya: Part 3: Menu example at Urth Cafe Daikanyama
We have introduced one of the recommended restaurants within walking distance of Fusubon Daikanyama where you can enjoy a leisurely meal .
*It's a 3-minute walk from Fusubon Daikanyama, so please come and visit!
Low-carb restaurants near Shibuya: Part 4: Naruto Kitchen's fried chicken
Next, I would like to introduce a chicken restaurant that is also recommended for those on a low-carb diet. It is Naruto Kitchen, famous for its fried chicken halves.
Naruto Kitchen is a new brand of Otaru New Naruto, a Hokkaido restaurant founded in 1980, with the concept of "fried chicken halves" and "delicious sake". The first store opened in Susukino, Sapporo, and the second store opened in Gotanda, Tokyo, marking the first foray outside Hokkaido. The Shibuya store opened on May 12, 2018! It is within walking distance of Fusubon Daikanyama (about 15 minutes on foot)!
The chicken at Naruto Kitchen is delicious ! I especially recommend their specialty , the "half-fried young chicken." Low-carb restaurants near Shibuya: Part 4: Naruto Kitchen's fried chicken
This is the fried chicken that those on a carbohydrate restriction diet are most concerned about, as it is deep-fried without any batter, and it is also very filling and has great cost performance, so it is highly recommended!
Although I would love to enjoy a variety of different types of Zangi, to be honest , the "half fried young chicken" alone is filling enough.
I went there right at the beginning of the year, and was very satisfied with just the "fried half a young chicken" and "salad" ♪ By the way, the fact that they provide "carbonated water" for drinks is a nice plus, so if you're not a big fan of alcohol, you might want to order that as well.
For those who want to enjoy the food at home or who can't get in because it's full, we recommend taking it home and enjoying it!
Low-carb restaurants near Shibuya: Part 5: Ebisu Three-Star Chicken's Low-Carb Dandan Noodles
Next, I would like to introduce Mazesoba Mitsuboshi, a ramen restaurant within walking distance of Fusubon Daikanyama that is also recommended for those on a low-carb diet.
Mazesoba Mitsuboshi is a popular mazesoba restaurant in Ebisu that serves delicious mazesoba and is recommended as a final dish after drinking.
It's an innovative style of eating with a fork and spoon. The Western-style mazesoba has a pasta-like feel and can be customized to your liking with four different seasonings. Spicy spices such as Japanese pepper, spicy vinegar with kabosu, and refreshing spices such as cumin and coriander. It's great that they're open until 2:00am.
Mitsuhoshi's recommended low-carb menu is the "Low Carb Dandan Noodles." The noodles, which people on a carb-restricted diet will be most interested in, are made with konjac noodles. These noodles were originally meant for pasta, and have a chewy texture.
The ingredients are high in protein, including roasted chicken breast, soy meat, domestic clams, and the ultimate topping, natto. It also contains plenty of coriander, which adds a nice aroma.
The soup is made with organic soy milk, so you can also get some protein here. It does not use any animal products such as pork bones or chicken carcasses, but is based on grilled ago dashi from Nagasaki, which has an excellent balance with the mellow soy milk, and is not too spicy, making it easy to eat.
The secret ingredient is the heat-safe omega-3 oil "Camelina Oil," which allows you to get omega-3 from the ramen, making it even more profound. I felt that this was truly the "ultimate low-carb ramen"! With that, I have introduced "Mazesoba Mitsuboshi" as one of Fusubon's recommended restaurants .
*Konnyaku noodles may be sold out, so we recommend calling to check before going. *It is about a 4-minute walk (250m) from Ebisu Station, about a 7-minute walk (540m) from Daikanyama Station, and about a 12-minute walk from Daikanyama Fusubon.
Muscle Shokudo Roppongi The last restaurant I would like to introduce is "Muscle Shokudo." I'm sure there are some people who know the name but have never been there.
First of all, the location of Muscle Shokudo (Roppongi store) is across the street from Midtown , so it's good to remember that. They also have a store in Suidobashi, and in mid-August 2018, their third store, the Shibuya store, opened.
The menu mainly consists of steak, hamburger, chicken breast, chicken thigh, fish, vegetables, etc. There is a wide variety of food, and I am very happy that the protein, fat, and carbohydrate content of each product is listed . The menu we ordered for two at dinner was: Chicken thigh meat 200g + chicken breast meat 200g (Protein: 83.4g Fat: 15.4g Carbohydrates: 0.0g )Set menu (soup + mini salad + brown rice or white rice) *Rice is usually served with soup and mini salad, but rice can be changed to cabbage, so I changed it to cabbage. * A small amount of protein (strawberry milk flavor) was brought to me before the meal as a service protein . Thick-sliced salmon with tomato sauce (Protein: 34.2g Fat: 11.2g Carbohydrates: 3.0g )
I ordered the set menu of "200g chicken thigh meat + 200g chicken breast meat" (substituting cabbage for rice), and it was a big visual impact!!
As for the taste of the meat, it was soft and juicy without any dryness , and had a deeper flavor than just meat. I also really liked the simple seasoning of just salt and pepper. It was not greasy in a good way and was light, and I enjoyed it all the way to the end, along with the rice and cabbage that came with it. *Condiments such as soy sauce, ponzu sauce with grated daikon radish, and Japanese-style vinegar are available on the table, so even if you get tired of the flavor, you can still enjoy other dishes.
Of course it's used by people who are in extensive training, but it's also used by people from other backgrounds , so I felt it was a cafeteria that appealed to everyone.
Personally, I'm not particularly muscular, and I don't do much muscle training, so I thought the stoic name "Kinniku Shokudo" was a little intimidating before I went, but...
In fact, the food was delicious, the carbohydrate content and other information was clearly displayed on the menu, and I got the impression that it was a safe, comfortable and healthy restaurant . Plus, with a store in Shibuya opening in August 2018, I'd like to go back again and again!
I would like to add that this is definitely a recommended restaurant for those who are on a low-carb diet (although those who aren't can also enjoy it) .
